About The Artist

Sherry Morgan

The oil paintings by Sherry Morgan are inspired by her love of nature and the beautiful world God has given us. Her favorite subjects are landscapes, wildlife in natural habitat, and animal portraiture. She endeavors to paint with the greatest attention to realistic detail and vibrant color. Sherry's goal in each piece is to capture the mood of the topic and to evoke a positive emotion in the viewer.

Sherry began painting at the age of seven under the guidance of a private teacher. She has enjoyed painting for forty eight years now and is always eager to capture a new subject on canvas. There continually are more themes to paint in her mind's eye than time allows. Painting remains an abiding passion for Sherry.

Sherry has painted for several zoos, gift shops, and galleries throughout the country, as well as for private customers. She has completed several unusual commissions such as designing a custom greeting card and painting wall murals. A most extraordinary assignment was to paint a large wall mural depicting the eruption of Mount Saint Helens.

Sherry and her husband live in their home in the woods in rural central Virginia. There, she has developed a bond with the local wildlife population as she feeds many of them during harsh times. Ranging from the twin fawns to the red headed woodpecker, they have become cherished friends and delightful models for the artist.
